Rebar Privacy Policy

What Rebar is. Rebar is an estimating app for concrete contractors. You walk a job with your phone, drop pins at the corners, and describe the work out loud. Rebar measures the job and prices it from your numbers.

What we collect, and why

• Your Google account’s name and email. These come from Sign in with Google, so your estimates and numbers belong to your account and no one else’s.
• The video and audio of your walk. The camera and microphone record while you walk the job, so Rebar can measure it and understand what you described. Rebar is built to record you and the job, not other people. Keep customers and bystanders out of frame.
• The measurements from your walk: the pins you drop and the shape they make.
• The job’s location. This is the phone’s GPS position when you start an estimate. Rebar uses it to tell what kind of property the job is on and to keep a record of where the job was.
• What you say about the job (your narration and notes), and the street address and nearby place names Rebar looks up from the job’s location.
• Your numbers: your rates, crew and the prices you set, plus the estimates and documents you create and send.

We do not collect contacts, messages or browsing history, and we don’t use advertising or analytics trackers.

Who processes it. Your data is stored on Google Cloud in the United States. To build your estimate, the walk’s video, audio and your words are sent to Google’s Gemini AI service, your narration is turned into text by Google’s speech recognition on your phone’s Android system, and the job’s location is sent to Google Maps. These services process the data for us under Google’s cloud terms. Under those terms, Google does not use it to train its models. Rebar’s camera measurements run on Google Play Services for AR (ARCore), which Google provides under the Google Privacy Policy.

What we don’t do. We don’t sell your data. We don’t show you ads. Your numbers are yours. We don’t pool your rates or prices with other contractors’, and we don’t use them to set anyone else’s prices.

How long we keep it. We keep your estimates, walks and numbers until you delete your account. They are your record of what you bid.

Deleting your account. In the app, go to My Numbers and tap Delete my account. On the web, visit 4rebar.com/delete-account. This deletes your account, numbers, estimates, walks and our copies of the documents you sent. Documents your customers already have stay with them. Copies in our backups are erased within 14 days, and our service logs, which can include a job’s name, within 30 days. We keep one permanent note that an account was deleted. It holds an internal ID only, with no name or email, and it never stops you from signing up again.

Security. Data travels encrypted (HTTPS) and is stored on Google Cloud. Only your signed-in account can read your estimates, and links to your documents expire after an hour. ⚠️ Post this sentence only once the sign-in owner checks are live (D205(6)).

Children. Rebar is a work tool for adults. It is not meant for anyone under 18.

Changes. If this policy changes, we’ll post the new version here with a new effective date.
